Freezing header row ISO

In Numbers I have created a spredsheet, and I have frozen the header row so as when scrolling down and editing other rows or columns that header row is always visible.

This works fine on my Mac, however using that same spreadsheet on my iPhone the header row is always visible when scrolling but when I go to edit another row or column the header row then disappears and is no longer visible, this is annoying and can lead me to put the data in the wrong row or column.

Any solutions???

I can't replicate that behavior on my iPhone. You might want to try this again:

tap in the table
tap the format "paint brush"
tap the Table tab
tap Headers and Footer
select the number of Header Rows that you want and make sure Freeze Rows is turned on.

I see that now. In general I've found it difficult to enter much data on the iPhone. The disappearing Header Row is indeed inconvenient.

Yes, that is what I hade done,

its when I scroll down in the spreadsheet (let’s say 40 rows) then I tap in a row, at this point the header is still visible, but when I tap the green type/keypad button the header is no longer visible.

Yes,I agree, input on an I phone is difficult! Unfortunately, when I'm out and about conducting surveys, that's the only option I have or I resort to the old-fashioned pen and paper 🙁

I wonder if it is the same on a iPad ?

The iPad has definite advantages for data entry, sometimes even in comparison to Numbers for the Mac (dates, for example).

If you haven't done so already be sure to try out Forms on the iPhone and iPad. Click the + upper left as if to add a new sheet and choose New Form. This may make data input easier.
