Where can I find/How can I capture a disk utility log, if I run it after holding Command+R?

Hi there, folks!

I have this habit of running Disk Utility from time to time, just to make sure my SSD "passes" the test. In order to not let much activity to stand in the way, I reboot, hold Cmd+R and select DU. I like to think it runs on "stand alone" mode.

However, I can't find a record of the DU session anywhere after I boot normally into MacOS.

So: where does MacOS record (if it doesn't, it should!) the messages DU puts out?

Thanks!

Hello Fernando N.,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. We'd like help out and point you in the right direction. On macOS Ventura, you can use Console to view logs. This resource can show you how to use this feature: View log messages in Console on Mac - Apple Support

1.) Open Console.

2.) Search for Disk Utility.

There is a fine search by selecting the Any from the drop down menu. If no information populates, this means that the log wasn't saved.

We hope this helps out. Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Take care.
