I need info on the "new" iOS Notes feature which duplicates a checklist item when trying to drag/move it.
Specifically: what the difference is, how to control it, and most of all, how to turn it off.
It's been a maddening few months with this "new feature" suddenly in effect.

I too find it annoying. Thought it was haptic. But it’s not. If you’re in edit mode in the note (says DONE on top right) it duplicates, if you tap out of edit mode (top right is 3 dots) then it’s a move of the checklist item.
I cannot believe you have finally supplied the answer after all of these years 🤣 thank you my friend. Yes Apple need to amend this feature. Who asked for it anyway?! 😀

I press and hold for 5 seconds or longer (which is already beyond ridiculous) and still doubles the item

Has anybody managed to intentionally duplicate a point in the Notes App for MacOS? This function is sometimes useful for me, but I've only managed to use it intentionally in Notes for iOS.
