My child’s app request comes in as a text instead of notification. How do I change it back?

I am not getting Ask to Buy requests My child is requesting to buy an app, but I am not getting notifications on my phone. I get requests for more screen time. I have restarted my phone and child’s iPad. I have iOS 16.1.2. My child has iPadOS 16.1.1.

Are you sure about that? I do not see any mention of texts in this support article, and definitely nothing about configuring how you get them. Approve what kids buy with Ask to Buy - Apple Support
