I'm sorry but tat doesn't make sense. If the email originates from your phone, it's something you're sending, not receiving.

What happens if you add your Gmail account to the phone through Settings>Mail>Add Account then use the built in Mail app?

Are you using the built in Mail app? Or some other app? Have you tried simply deleting the account from your phone and adding it back? Has it ever worked?
