Save As PDF in iMessages covers all images with black box

I need to save an iMessages conversation for record keeping purposes. When I attempt to print and save as PDF, all photos are inexplicably covered with a black box. Does anybody know why this is happening or how to fix it?!?! Attached is an example of what iMessages does to images when saved as a PDF.

Photos and attachments disappear from text messages. there remains an empty box with the image of a piece of paper in it. in their space. I don't have any other information except that I would like for photos etc to remain on my texts so I can see them again.

Why am I not able to open images sent in a text? Is anyone else having trouble receiving or sending images (like screenshots) by text? What pray tell might I be doing wrong over here!?

I can't make photo stickers There's no photo stickers section on imessage and on photos when I press and hold on the subject it just plays the live photo.
