Poor speaker sound at times

Im finding people can't hear me properly during calls and it seems to work better on speaker mode?

its an iPhone 8+

Hello,

Start here:

Get help with the microphones on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Then test with the Voice Memos app.
