Can't mount old CD-ROM and DVD, AKA "com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error 49153"

I'm reviving an old thread and using the same title because I have an additional solution to those suggested in the linked question.

When my MacBook Pro running Catalina failed to mount seven out of 22 old DVD-ROMs and CD-ROMS I was presented with the error message in the title each time.

As I have Parallels Desktop installed and a can run a virtual image of MAC OS 10.11.6 El Capitan, the logic of the solutions in that thread suggested that I should be able to mount the disks using Parallels – and this did indeed prove to be the case.

These optical storage disks date from 1999 to 2007 (before large hard drive storage became affordable). I do not recall having used a different kind of formatting for the seven that failed to mount in Catalina. The only factor in common was than five of the failed seven were Memorex branded.
