Finder delays 3 seconds to open files (Double-Click or Cmd+O)

My Finder shows a certain delay when opening files (e.g., Double-clicking or ⌘O). When I double-click to open, it takes several seconds before the flickering feedback of the file icon and the launch of the corresponding app. However, when using

open <filepath>

from the terminal, the file is immediately opened as usual.

I already tried to:

  1. Use a new account
  2. Enter safe mode
  3. Clear finder preferences files (plist)

Does anyone know what could be happening?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 13.3

hmmm....

so you are saying there was no difference when you compared both a new account & safeboot mode?

The current stable release of Ventura including bug fixes, security updates is macOS Ventura 13.4 I would start there.
