New phone only finding iPad backup

I’ve changed my iPhone, like for like swap (iPhone 12 max pro). I had my last one since they were released. My phone has continuously been back up to my iCloud. When I try to restore the last backup to my new phone, the only backup on my iCloud is from my iPad.

how do it get my iPhone backups?

You may need to update the new iPhone to the current iOS version to access the backups from the old iPhone.

You can verify your backups are there by logging in to https://www.icloud.com/storage/

It should show how many devices are backed up there, and how much storage the backups are using.

Are you signed in with the Apple ID from the old iPhone?

Are you sure the old iPhone was set to backup to iCloud?

Is the new iPhone running the same or newer iOS version as the old one?

Backups are tied to the Apple ID that was logged in for iCloud on the device at the time they were made. They also require the same or newer iOS version on the target device to access.
