Pages and other Apps sometimes stop saving.
Sometimes Pages, but also other apps (probably ones supporting UIDocument architecture, like Numbers or Artstudio Pro) stop saving the active document and a lot of progress may be lost forever!
It is normally rather rare case but may happen just in the middle of normal editing, without any alert.
I found a way how to easily reproduce it in Pages app. Here a video with all steps:

Here is the easiest way to make this happen:
- create new document in iCloud Drive / Pages (it happen on On My iPad / Pages as well, but it is less often)
- put 3-4 photos in the document (the larger document, the more often it happens)
- open Files app in the split view, tap "Get Info" on the document currently edited in Pages (it happens more often when document preview is shown)
- then constantly modify and save document in Pages. To save it immediately i move split view separator a bit after typing few letters in the document.
- after few saves preview in Files stops refreshing, and current progress will be not saved anymore in Pages, without any alert!!
- here is an alert shown after trying to return to Documents in Pages: "Pages hasn't finished saving your document. If you close it, your unsaved edits will be lost."
- after closing a document i cannot open it again. I have to restart Pages to open it and it turns out last edits were not saved.
I reported this issue in Feedback Assistant, but i wanted to share it here as well.
