iPhone 13 not waterproof

I had a less than a year old iPhone 13 and I always used a protective cover and a screen shield . The phone never experienced any bending or dropping that could have compromised the integrity. I went kayaking with the phone attached to my chest and it was exposed to minor splashes of water. I got home and the phone died. Diagnosis was that water had gotten into the phone which completely ruined it.

Apple completely rejected all resposibility. After buying and owning countles different Apple devices (computers, phones...) I feel quite betrayed. You would think that a premium brand would take a little more resposibility of their faulty products.
