Screen time won't turn off

My son has a macbook air and I have had Screen time on to track his usage. I recently added a third party tracking app and it requires screen time to be off to work. Each time I enter the passcode it looks like screen time is turned off but when I pull it back up screen time is on still. It seems like I can't turn it off.

Uninstall the 3rd party app completely. AppCleaner app is good for that.

Turn off screen time and confirm it stays off.

Reinstall the 3rd party app and test screen time. If you still can't get it to work it's time to consult with the developer of the app.

As a last resort, consider reinstalling your OS from the Recovery panel ... Command R at startup.
