Running a Custom command (Voice Control) several times

Hey Lopreto,

Unless you create a custom voice control that actually does what you want. Like when you’re creating the custom voice command, you will be repeating yourself the exactly amount of times you were wanting to make that one custom voice control happen.

Otherwise you can do it with 2 voice commands.

1. Say your Custom Voice Command.

2. Say ‘Repeat 7 Times’ or ‘Repeat 20 Times’ however many times you are wanting.

It’s interesting… When I have a custom voice command that has more than one gesture. If I give the command to repeat x times, it will only repeat the last gesture of the custom command.

I’m curious if your custom voice command is only one gesture or multiple?

Yeah sorry about this Siri shortcut part. When I was trying to do the custom voice command and the repeat command afterwards. I realize that I was repeating a Siri Shortcut that was a custom voice command.

You can turn your Siri shortcuts into custom voice commands so that when your phone is awake you don’t have to say Hey Siri to activate it, you can choose to make it a custom voice command.

To do this you would go into Accessibility Settings > Voice Control > Custom Commands > Custom > Create New Command… > Action > Run Shortcut

And create the phrase you want to activate it and then Save to create the Voice command.

I mainly use this with my BroadLink shortcuts when I’m adjusting the volume on my TV and things like that when I want to do it multiple times.

Sorry just realized that the custom voice command has to be a Siri Shortcut for it to be able to repeat multiple times.
