My Imac with IOS 13.4 won't allow me to add folders to "locations" on the finder sidebar
It has worked up until today with no issues. All that I have added are now gone and I am not able to add new shortcuts.

Hold it! I just watched 'Locations' add themselves from Folder>Settings>Sidebar, so as an experiment I dragged a new folder on top of 'Favourites' and lo and behold, ALL my previous favourites appeared as if by magic. Arthur C Clarke was right.
Aah. BUT that ONLY applied to the Finder window I was currently working on :( - perhaps it's a feature? I'll log out, restart and see if anything changes and update accordingly. YES! A restart did the trick. ALL folder windows now display my 'Favourites'.
Ignore the below.

I also can't add folders to the sidebar. But I don't think it happened immediately after I upgraded to MacOS Ventura 13.4, otherwise I think I'd have noticed ;/. I've been to the side bar preferences, ticked a few favourites/locations but they don't 'Stick'.
What (I know) I have I done to the Folder settings is to play around with View>Customise Tool Bar.
A solution found by my IT guy was to hover over the word favourites and tap the arrow.
They then appeared like you said like magic. I don't know why they disappeared but you they are back now.
