add parent folder to Finder

How do we go about adding the Parent Folder / Enclosed In folder on the Finder screen?

When I search for a file it would be great if I could see what folder the file is in. Secondly, how is this not there by default?

Hold down the command key and click on the folder name. A popup will show the path.

You can also turn on the Path bar in the View menu.
