Finding difficult to scan documents using Mac book pro along with iPhone 13 Pro Max. Time out too short

I feel I'm doing something wrong. While using either email or word and trying to insert documents to be scanned with iPhone I'm not in the position to perform the task since time out intervene after few seconds

Please advise

I can't scan documents from my iPhone after update to iOS 17.0 With my MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016), Big Sur, and an iPhone 14, iOS 16, I was able to regularly scan multi page documents from Preview without issue. As soon as I updated my iPhone 14 to iOS 17 I could no longer scan from Preview. I kept getting the error message reported here: I can't scan documents from my iPhone - Apple Community I did find that with persistence I could scan a page maybe once out of every 6+ tries—but scanning multiple pages was impossible. Trying "right click > Import from iPhone > Scan Documents" initially scanned a single page but subsequently started giving me the same error: "Could not import from “*****’s iPhone”—The device was disconnected." Shortly thereafter I bought a new MacBook Air 15-inch, M2, 2023 running Sonoma. Unfortunately the same scanning issue persisted on the new MBAir. I've been applying each iOS 17 update through iOS 17.1.2 but none so far have addressed this scanning issue. I am aware that iOS 17.2 just dropped yesterday (12/11/2023) and will update tonight in hopes this one addresses the scanning bug...

Scan documents automatically to A4 format PDF Now it's 2023 and as far as i know this problem already exists since 2019… is there finally a solution to this??? Scanning a document using Notes app on iPhone or MacOS and saving as PDF not only puts everything into Letter format size but also creates this super ugly white margin around the smaller scaled original (jpg) scan. Scanning documents with iPhone directly into Finder does exactly the same. So, yes, i know there is the Files app on iOS that at least does not create this ugly margin and also does not use Letter format… BUT every scanned document / new page has it's very own individual format. And this format is then even based on how close or far you hold the iPhone/camera to the document. Which is sort of logical: the more far away you hold it, the more of the underneath/surrounding surface the document is placed on you'll cut away. Is it REALLY STILL NOT POSSIBLE to set some standard PDF size for those scans??? This is a suuuper basic feature for a scan tool… ___ additional thoughts: Also this camera distance thing… i used to hold my camera quiet close and quiet precisely the same distance for every page. So it took me a while to actually find out about these problems, i was just always wondering why my PDFs end up being so huge in file size. It makes absolutely sense for photography/graphics, but when you just have greyscale simple text documents, then it's quiet weird approach to control the file size by keeping a greater distance with the cameras and cropping more margin… why can't this be implemented with proper JPG-compression??? Scanning Problems iPhone 14 Promax iOS 16.1 i am having trouble scanning documents using any app like notes adobe scan vault scanner in one drive. the images are blurry. the camera is taking pictures with no issues. I have used a different phone with iOS 15.7 with no problems. I have attached the pictures. I did reset the phone (factory reset) I do not wish to go to a store and factory reset it again. It’s a lot of work. any suggestions

A Canon CanoScan LiDE 400 scanner is around $89. VueScan Professional is slightly more and drives that Canon scanner without vendor drivers. With better quality scans too.

Weigh how much time you have wasted so far on scanning with the iPhone and what you think your time is worth, and you probably would be money ahead with the two products mentioned in the first paragraph.

What exactly do you mean by "trying to insert documents to be scanned with iPhone"? What exactly is your ultimate goal? Scanned where and by what?
