Keychain very slow and unresponsive

From the instructions in that article, my emphasis: “You’ve successfully managed to get your Keychain password in sync with your user password again, at the cost of losing all stored passwords in the keychain“.

Also, I can now no longer use my iPhone as it requires me to sign in with Apple ID. Which I can’t because the keychain won’t let the Wi-Fi passwords verify. Which means I’ll will have to wipe the phone and reinstall an old back up…

Yes I immediately replaced the Keychain with one from that morning via Time Machine. But the mere act of doing this (presumably without quitting the app first) has erased all the passwords in Safari, and most of them in Keychain.

My major problem is that as a result my iOS devices are demanding I sign in to iCloud to confirm my Apple ID. iPad is OK, but phone gives message as grabbed above. Hence I can not get on the internet with it.

I really wish I had left Keychain alone...

Unfortunately that wouldn't solve the biggest problem, which is not being able to log in to my iPhone. I may have to take it in to Apple.

I've decided to cut my loses, create a new keychain and go through the tedium of creating new passwords for everything.

Thanks, this was the first thing I tried, as I hoped it would clear up the issue. Made no difference!

Many thanks. I have EtreCheck Pro and ran it a few days ago – nothing obvious caught my eye. I'll create new report and paste it as you suggest.

As reported above. if I create a new admin account, Keychain works fine.
