MacOS 13.4 Ventura - External Monitor no longer detected. Worked until the update to 13.4

Congratulations, Apple, MacOS 13.4 has completely eliminated my ability to use an external display. Up until the 13.4 update, I was using an external display to extend my video across the MacBook display and the external display. No longer since 13.4.

I have now tried three different USB Type-C docking stations that I know have worked in the past, and none of them will connect to my external monitor. What is going on?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

I actually wound up resolving this by unplugging the monitor for a few minutes and then plugging it back in. It seems like the update process put the monitor into some state that it couldn't recover from - a state that simply turning the monitor off and on again with the power button doesn't help with (the power button apparently doesn't fully reset the monitor).

The monitor resumed working as normal after being unplugged for awhile. I vaguely recall having to do something similar after a previous macOS update, so maybe this issue isn't specific to Ventura.

Unfortunately, this is not working for me after the 13.4.1 update resulted in the same problem. I've unplugged the monitor and left it for 30 minutes. No joy. Will try some other things.....

I tried

delete some file under ~/Library/...
disconnect usb-c port and reconnect it again.

But nothing worked for me.

This works perfect for me, thank you so much.

Macbook Air M1, upgraded from Ventura 13.4 to 13.4.1, and my external display which was working fine is getting no signal after the upgrade.

Same issue. Apple really needs to have a easy method to roll back updates. DO NOT UPDATE TO 13.4.1 if you use a dock and displaylink to get around the M1/M2 limited monitors situation.

Same here as many report. Updated to Ventura 13.4.1 and MBP M2 will no longer detect external 4K monitor. I’m using an Anker hub with DisplayPort.

My external Apple Display was working under Ventura 13.4 but just did the 13.5 update and now I have no external monitor working. None of previous mentioned solutions seems to fix it.
