How do I stop my iPhone from showing that I edited my picture with FaceTune?

When you bring up info for pictures I’ve edited with FaceTune, it shows that it’s been edited with FaceTune. It’s annoying and feels like an invasion of privacy - I don’t need everyone knowing if I edited a picture. I just want to know if there’s a way to turn this off somehow. I also pay for FaceTune too, so it’s not the free version of the app. Any input would be helpful! :)

When you edit a photo, the edited version will have a tag showing how the content has been created.

For example, after editing with Luminar Neo I am seeing these tags:

Software                        : Luminar Neo Extension

Creator Tool                    : Luminar Neo Extension

If you do not want to bother with exiftool to remove the tags, take a screenshot of the finished version and share the screenshot. It will have the software tag removed, also other tags set by the camera.

Or use Preview to create a new image without metadata.

  • Export the edited version from Photos, then open it in Preview and select all pixels with ⌘A to save the image to the clipboard.
  • Then use the command "File > New from Clipboard" to create a new image in Preview , then save it in the format you want. It will also no longer have the creator tag.

What an age we live in!

It's good you included a screenshot. On my phone what appears in that position is the filename without an extension. The creator app name appears below the map. So I'm guessing that FaceTune makes a new picture with a new file name. There's nothing you can do about changing the filename in Photos-- it's really part of the picture. I think you would need to send the picture to a computer and change the name there.

The best trick is probably the one suggested by léonie -- make a screenshot. The file name of the screenshot will be generated by the phone and will have nothing to do with FaceTune. Send that one.

It annoying when users blame Apple for everything. Facetune isn't an Apple app, nor is it an Apple or Apple device issue. If you're annoyed, then reach out to the app developer or look at their support site.
