MOVED MOUSE LOCKS THE MACBOOK

The thing that lockscreen shows up when the mouse is quickly moved in a diagonal direction in the middle of the display, rather than relying on the movement of the mouse to the four corners. Slight mouse movements can activate the lockscreen, which can be annoying.

The existing online resources mainly focus on enabling hot corners, screen savers, multi-touch, etc,- tried all that I can do, but nothing helped. The issue rose suddenly around two months ago, my mac was initially real fine.

But this solution caters to scenarios where the mouse is placed in the center of the display.

What should I do now? Thanks!

If the great advice you already got is not enough to solve the issue, there is probably something else involved. What mouse are you using? Does it come with its own software?

Does the same problem occur if you start your mac in Safe Mode? Does it occur if booted normally and logged in to a new user account?

I’m here assuming use of an external mouse, and not the trackpad.

Some mice have speed and acceleration settings.

If those settings are aggressive, you could well be hitting the hot corner.

Some third-party mice require add-on software, and that software can sometimes malfunction.

If your mouse requires add-on software, check with the vendor for updates and apply the most current.

Hey there Mona_bn,

Thanks so much for using Apple Support Communities.

You mentioned hot corners in your post but we're not sure if you have tried disabling this feature, or adjusting what your settings are for each corner if you have hot corners enabled. If you are utilizing hot corners and have a shortcut for locking your screen on one of those corners, we would recommend turning that feature off. After that, continue to use the Mac as normal and see if that seems to have resolved the issue or not. You can follow the steps in this resource for that, if need be: Use hot corners on Mac - Apple Support

We hope this does the trick for you!

Cheers.
