iPad Mini 5 charger port blocked
Why did my chargers suddenly stop fitting into my iPad Mini 5 port?
No apparent debris and iPad works fine but the port doesn’t accept any charger.

If your iPad has a Lightning connector, if the port itself is physically obstructed, you might try to gently dislodge the obstruction using a plastic or sharpened wooden toothpick. Do not use any metal objects to remove the obstruction - as you may cause a short-circuit and irreparably damage the iPad.
Use good light - and be careful to avoid damage to the fragile electrical contacts and the retainer springs (one at each end of the connector aperture). If you are unable to easily dislodge the obstruction, or your are uncertain, you would be advised to entrust cleaning of the connector port to the technicians at the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - as they have both the correct tools and specialist knowledge:

If your iPad has a USB-C port instead of Lightning, you would be best advised to rely upon Apple’s technicians.
Thank you for your reply. It would be difficult for me to get to an Apple location. Can you tell me if there’s a way to retrieve missing data, photos, etc. without making the repair/ replacing the port? Not everything is showing on my other device.
Do you mean the connector doesn't fit into the port?
The port can sometimes be loose and it doesn't connect reliably.
Much of that stuff may be saved to iCloud. You can also email photos and data, although I get that it might be tedious. And the important thing would be that if it doesn't charge reliably you might run out of battery power.
Thanks for responding
1. The port isn’t loose. It’s physically blocked in a way that doesn’t let the charger tip go in more than half way.
2. This happened when the charge was very low, about 8 %, so turning it on wouldn’t help. I’m hoping there’s another way to recapture anything that wasn’t backed up.
