My AirPods are shown as fake when I pair to my iPhone even though they were purchased directly from apple

You came from the best resource for your AirPods issue: If you get a 'Cannot Verify AirPods' alert

Which says you can continue to use them despite this notification, however, they may not behave as expected.


You can use the following to identify your AirPods: Identify your AirPods


And verify their legitimacy using the Check Coverage website here with the serial number: Check Device Coverage
