I have transferred data to my new Mac.

The 'Recent Docs' function in Excel no longer recognises my docs. It says they have been moved or deleted. However, I can open them normally using the Open function. I have tried removing all docs from the Recent Docs and then saving them but that is not making any difference. Any ideas?

Downloading a word.doc to my MacBook I was wondering if anyone knew why my word documents stopped downloading as word documents but now they automatically transfer over to pages and download to my files as pages. When I was searching up why it did this everyone told me to highlight a doc in my files, click the file tab on the top left, then hit "get info", and when the pages app drop down appears click the "open with" option and select MS word/ word documents. But when I tried doing that I have no word doc option It only has the option pages as a default option and the text edit app as an option. Is this because I don't have MS word app on my computer, just google docs. I didn't know if it was another mess up in my settings or because of an apple update, but if anyone could help me save a word doc as an word doc without transfer as a page in my files I would appreciate it.

Opening documents on new MacBook Pro I am unable to open documents on my new MacBook Pro. The documents were transferred from my older MacBook Air.

saved files are not showing up in icloud document folder, MacBook Air 13", Sonoma 14.0 Macbook Air M2, 13", Recently updated to Sonoma 14.0, now, when I download any files, PDF, or otherwise, into the iCloud documents folder, so it can be shared across devices, the recently downloaded file, does not show up in the folder, if I log into the same iCloud documents folder from another device, it's right there. I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting the iCloud, restarting the computer, and clearing all of the cache from Google Chrome/. This happens across all browsers, and seems to only affect this device with the new updated OS. Any ideas?

"Recents" is no more than a listing of any files you may have opened. If the particular location for a given file has changed, "Recents" will not find it as it's looking in the old location.

Excel "Help" is pretty good at explaining what "Recents" can do.
