I have been attempting to edit photos in iPhoto on my MacBook Pro. The edits do not save. They revert back to original. I am not using an external editor, I am clicking the "done" button. There are so many glitches with Apple over the years, not sure why I want to keep buying their products. Can anyone help?
Have you installed and run any "cleaning", "optimizing", "speed-up", anti-virus or VPN apps on your Mac?
Give this a try: boot into Safe Mode according to How to use safe mode on your Mac and test to see if the problem persists. Reboot normally and test again.
NOTE 1: Safe Mode boot can take up to 3 - 5 minutes as it's doing the following;
• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed
• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)
• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically
• Disables user-installed fonts
• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files
NOTE 2: if you have a wireless keyboard with rechargeable batteries connect it with its charging cable before booting into Safe Mode. This makes it act as a wired keyboard as will insure a successful boot into Safe Mode.

Are you really still using iPhoto or have you migrated your iPhoto Libraries to Photos for Mac? Iphoto is no longer supported on any Mac with macOS 10.15 Catalina or later. If you are still using iPhoto, which system version do you have installed?
I am running Ventura 13.3.1. I ended up cropping the photo minorly along with the edit and it worked. Apple photo editing is so basic there should never be an issue. Thanks for responding.
There’s no way I should have to do this. I ended up minorly cropping the photo and only then did it accept my edit. Typical Apple, so glitchy. But thanks for responding.
