VueScan Professional has supported the Nikon CoolScan 4000 ED and other related Nikon devices for years. No Nikon drivers necessary. Nikon has long since ceased issuing drivers for these 2001 era slide scanners.


The challenge you will face is that this is a Firewire 400 device and Macs that support macOS Ventura do not feature Firewire ports. So you will need to track down the apropriate and compatible Firewire 4-pin (1394-A) to USB adapter cable and these are plentiful on Amazon.
