Apple Books Problems

I am extremely frustrated by the difficulties synch'ing books between devices (in my case, MacBookPro and iPhone 13+, with up-to-date OS's). Kindle apps do this almost flawlessly, and when they do fail to, you can manually input a specific "location #)-- a data field that doesn't even exist in Books. Location #s are essential because they standardize location regardless of font size or device used.

In Books' IOS version, sorting a library alphabetically by author does not work properly (it's fine on the OS version). Sometimes first name, sometimes by last, regardless of how it is specified in the metadata. Again MAC OS gets this right, so why not IOS?

I tried giving feedback to Apple. CS Reps will only refer you to Apple's online feedback form. This is inadequate because a) the number of characters you can input is too limited, and b) when they ask what version of Books you're using, the dropbox only goes to Version 1.5. (I'm up to v. 5.2). Not exactly confidence-inspiring, and I strongly suspect no one is even looking at complaints/requests for this product.

The one thing I do prefer to the Kindle app is the flexibility Books allows in customizing genres/categories in the library.
