Starz App is missing from Apple TV

I have had a subscription to Starz for about a year now and used it to watch a particular series on my Apple TV. After watching the season finale, I have not used Starz again for many months. Previously, the Starz app showed up on the home screen of my Apple TV along with the other apps. But now it has disappeared.

I cannot find the App Store on my Apple TV so I assume I must have one of the early versions of the device.


Anyone know what happened to the Starz app and how I can get it back??

Supported devices - Starz Support (per September 20, 2022)

Streaming media players
• Apple TV running tvOS 16 or newer

That would exclude the stand-alone app on Apple TV (3rd generation or earlier), running system software version 7.9 or earlier.


Starz may still be available as channel inside the TV app on the 3rd generation model. Subscribe to Apple TV channels in the Apple TV app - Apple Support. That is a different type of subscription, though, and not exchangeable with the streaming service through the content provider app.
