Hi everyone.
I have a Mac Mini. M1 2020 model, running Monterey 12.3.1.
The left click will not work on any mouse I have tried. Including cable connection. I cannot update or start using keyboard strokes as no left click. (Needs to be left click on most icons/buttons) Can anyone recommend a fix please? My feeling is malware or hacked.

Try starting your mac in Safe Mode: shutdown; then press and hold down the power button until you are presented with startup options, and choose Safe Mode.
I would be extremely surprised if your mac did not work in Safe Mode.
Also: I don't have a mouse to test this, but I believe that it is possible to switch the left and right buttons, so: did you try to see if right clicking does what left clicking is supposed to? If that is the case then you should be able to reach the appropriate pane in System Settings to set that correctly.

But just realised I have a track pad. So got that working and it is OK. Not the mouse, so switched to right and mouse now working. 🙏

Sadly it didn't work. One needs the left click operating to select the preferred mode. 🙏
And switching back has fixed the problem. 🙏😎
