I have bought MacBook Pro 16" from a trusted seller. And it has 32GB memory. But when I use JavaScript console:
navigator.deviceMemory
it shows 8 instead of 32.
So, I suspect my MacBook part is replaced?
if you would like to look a little deeper, you can use System Report.
on Ventura, you can use System Settings > General > About, and in the right panel, scroll down until you can choose "System Report".
or any macOS before Ventura, use Apple Menu > About This Mac, Overview and choose "System Report".
and then look in Hardware > Hardware Overview see what it shows there.

Well, it's not a bug. For security reason, they do not print exact device memory but round to max 8.
From the doc, using navigator.deviceMemory results: A full list of possible values should be as follows: 0.25, 0.5, 1, 2, 4, 8
what do you see when you check your RAM using Apple Menu > About This Mac?

In system report too I can see 32GB. But why javascript identifies it 8GB, that's why I am taking it as suspicious?
