Computers only or all devices?
Why is my laptop authorized in some situations and not others?
Is the authorization limited to computers or device? If devices SAY devices!

Authorizing/deauthorizing for iTunes applies only to computers; not to iPhones or iPads.

The thing that is limited to 5, and is the most common source of stress, is authorization, and it only applies to computers.

Hi,
Having to repeat authorisation on purchased tracks suggests that the downloads are corrupted. Try removing download then re-download. See also Redownload music – Apple Support (UK)

Thanks, as I thought. What is frustrating is I cannot play my library of downloaded (not streaming) music in Music on my MacBook Pro M1 because it claims it isn't authorized. Not True and I have less than five computers authorized anyway. I can buy and download from the App store and access iCloud on it. So I guess it's an Apple genius thing then. Not happy.
Huh, good thought and thanks. Oddly they play on my other devices and they are, as Apple demands, resident on iCloud.
