How to turn off 5G on my iPhone XS?
I have an iPhone Xs. I would like to turn off 5G AT&T on my phone and revert to the LTE network which is far better. I cannot find the option in settings. What should I do?

iPhone XS
Your XS doesn’t support 5G at all, so there is nothing to turn off. All AT&T supports on an XS is LTE.
The only phones that support 5G are the SE 3rd edition, and iPhone 12, 13, and 14 series.

You don’t have 5G. What you’re seeing says “5Ge”. That stands for “5G evolution”. It is NOT 5G. It is AT&T’s enhanced LTE.

No, the display says 5G. But nevertheless, I don’t want either one and I do not have an option to select LTE only.
It is NOT 5G, it is an AT&T marketing scam. The XS HARDWARE cannot connect to a 5G network. It is LTE rebranded as 5G with the intention of fooling customers.
AT&T is running a con game by displaying 5GE on the phone. This is not 5G at all, it is an enhanced version of LTE.

Just like they did when they started showing "4G" for their 3.5G network years ago. It's all about marketing, and the fact that the organization that oversees naming and certification of networks caved to greed when offered $$$ to 'fudge' the definition in favor of the carriers marketing departments.

Ok well it is not 5G; but whatever it is, when the display says that the network performance is horrendous. I wish I could turn it (the “enhanced” LTE) off.
thank you for your help.
Then AT&T’s network is horrendous. They now only operate one network, and that’s the one that you are connected to. The only voice AT&T offers is Voice over LTE (VoLTE) and LTE. I switched from AT&T a year ago, and I’m paying half of what AT&T cost for much better performance.

I used www.celltowermaps.com to find all the towers that were closest to me.
