2nd monitor not being detected

I have a new Lenovo Q27h-10 monitor connected to my 2019 iMac as a second monitor, via an HDMI cable with a USB-3 dongle. The iMac is not detecting the Lenovo monitor. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

iMac 27″, macOS 13.1

I just heard back from the Lenovo people, and they informed me that the particular monitor is only Windows 7 & 10 compatible. The specs were not very clearly stated when I purchased it (I guess I did not read far enough into the fine print).

Anyways, I will continue to look for another monitor that is Mac compatible.

Agreed, I found it very difficult, as well to see that it was only Windows compatible. I have attached screenshots of the Windows-only specs that were not ANYWHERE apparent on the Amazon specifications page.

Yes, I did get the monitor to show me the controls on the screen, and I was able to toggle between HDMI and USB-C connectivity.

Already repackaged and returning the monitor. Not going to give Lenovo the satisfaction of finding a Mac solution, even if there is one. Bad on them for not opening up their technology to allow for a cross-platform install.

The dongle is from Apple, so I am hoping that is sufficient. The HDMI cable is a 1M Belkin cable. I originally used the Lenovo-supplied USB-3 cable, which was not working. That led me to purchase the Apple dongle and HDMI cable config. Lenovo did not supply the HDMI cable. The other part of this fiasco is that there are "monitor drivers" to install for Windows, but there are no drivers for the Mac environment. I have never heard of installing drivers for monitors. Printers yes, but not monitors.

I have not tried USB-C to DisplayPort cable. That's a relatively inexpensive cable, so I can try that one.
