My USB SuperDrive does not work with neither my MAC nor MacBook. The instructions are very simple but don't work. I connect to usb on the computer and doesn't register.

My question is what I have to do to make the usb superdrive to work on the mac and macbook. I bought the superdrive after I bought new computers because the computers no longer had the place for dvd's nor cd's.

If someone can help me I will appreciate, if not, IBM owes me an explanation.

Thanks,

Dolores

please see TheLittles' reply first.

but, is the superdrive connected directly to the Mac? it will not work if connected through a dock or hub. and for Macs that only have USB-C / TB3 ports, you need an USB-C to USB Adapter to connect it direct.

Is there a SuperDrive Even Seen?:

To Find Out:

  1. Click: Apple menu
  2. Click: Option button
  3. Click: System Information
  4. View: Hardware on left-column
  5. Click: Disc Burning
  6. Verify: if a SuperDrive is seen
