Share System Notifications Missing for Bluetooth Devices in iOS 16.5

I just connected my iPhone 13 (on iOS 16.5) to my Windows 11 laptop through the new version of Phone Link. Phone Link is not downloading my texts from my iPhone, but I can send messages from Windows 11 Phone Link.

Although there are noted limitations to the completeness of being able to do this, Microsoft's instructions indicate to select "Share System Notifications" for the Bluetooth connection to my laptop in the iPhone. It is not available on any of my Bluetooth devices, including my car's radio through Car Play.

It appears that the settings that are available are specifically for calls, not texts. I am a recent convert from Android phones to Apple phones, and admittedly am still getting used to where to go for settings. I am hoping this is one of those instances.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Windows, Windows 10

I have a similar problem, that Apple hasn’t answered, though neither has anyone else, anywhere. For FIVE YEARS, my Mercedes happily downloaded messages. But after an update several weeks ago on my iPhone, the messages icon on my car’s screen is unavailable. And please don’t tell me to go to Settings/Bluetooth and hit the notifications toggle - IT HAS DISAPPEARED. Strangely enough the toggle is still on my old iPhone 6 and 8… extremely extremely annoying

It is apparent that what Microsoft indicated would be available is incorrect, but was it recently removed?

The problem is defintely on Apple's end. Apple must have removed the "Share system notifications" option on 16.5 or 16.5.1 because the connection worked fine before I updated and after reinstalling and re-pairing multiple times it connects fine but i can only send outgoing messages now.

Windows prompts you to share system notifications then turn on show notifiations then sync contacts but only the latter 2 are the only options now.

Surprised more people have this problem as personally while it is still pretty raw love the conviencne of connecting my PC to my iphone finally.
