Family sharing

I have set up family sharing with 3 members. I have paid for 200GB of icloud+ storage. 2 members are joined but 1 member is "not using". I have taken them off family sharing and put them back but still not using. Help please

Don't cancel the existing plan directly, simply have them choose to use the shared plan instead. when they choose the shared plan, their existing plan will automatically be cancelled and they will be refunded the unused portion.

If you cancel it manually, anything exceeding 5GB will be erased.

Yes. It should just automatically use the shared storage and no data should be lost.

Or I should back up them and next transfer them to a shared family plan?

You should always have a backup. There is nowhere to transfer. Your iCloud data is not actually getting moved. Once you select the Family Storage it just uses that instead. You don't get a separate location for your data through Family Sharing. It just the same place its always been, but using the family shared storage space.

Thank you for thèse very helpful replies. The fact is that apple systems have driven me potty. I set up sharing as directed with lots of extra storage but I kept being told that I had insufficent storage for 1 member and that data would be lost.

Eventually I signed out of my apple account on iphone and when I signed in again it all worked perfectly.

Did I really spend 2 days working out how to pay extra to apple?
