Apple Fitness App Not Showing in App Store

Hi,

I can’t see the Apple Fitness app in the app store on my child’s ipad. Family Sharing is on, and my Fitness+ subscription shows as shared on all devices under shared subscriptions, yet I can’t get an App Store search to locate the Fitness App.

It is a compatible device—ipad 9th gen.

All devices are running the latest iOS version.

I do have family sharing turned on, invitations have been accepted, and on all devices when I check family sharing, it shows that my Fitness + subscription is being shared—but when i go to the app store to download the Fitness app, it does not show up in the app store.

I changed restrictions allowing restricted materials. No luck. (I really wish Fitness+ wasn’t lumped in with music, etc under this restriction—I’ve never come across explicit material in the Fitness+ subscription, but that’s another topic for another time.)

Can you help me figure out if there is another setting that may be blocking a search in the App store from turning up the Fitness app?

It seems to be because he is under 13. You no longer need an Apple Watch, and you are indeed allowed to share Fitness+ with family sharing members who are signed into their own Apple IDs--unless they are under 13 (as per two nice people at an Apple Store this afternoon).

I found a workaround, and did temporarily get the Fitness app on the child's iPad in question, but as soon as I turn on ANY Screen Time & Privacy Restrictions, including just not allowing changes to location services, the Fitness app disappears from the Home Screen.

It comes back without having to re-download the app when I turn off all Screen Time and Privacy Restrictions on his device. I tried to just leave the content restrictions wide open to anything, but indeed if I use Content & Privacy Restrictions at all, away goes the Fitness app--that is not the case on my own devices.

Very frustrating. I got the subscription for a grandchild because it included his favorite meditations. If anyone knows another way, I'm still trying!!

Anyhow, thank you to both of you who have offered suggestions~

Just beneath that, it still says to install the app from the App Store. So, that can’t be it. Good suggestion though!

Sharon, have you tried restarting the iPad and searching for Fitness again?:

1. Press and hold the top button until the power off slider appears.
2. Drag the slider, then wait for 30 seconds for your device to turn off.
3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the top button until you see the Apple logo.

(Restart your iPad - Apple Support)

Let us know how this goes! :)

Thanks--yes, I tried that too. When I get to the App Store, the message at the top of the screen says:

"This app requires specific features not available on this device."

However, the device, iPad 9th generation, IS included on the list of compatible devices. It's fully updated. settings show the subscription is indeed being shared, but I cannot access the app in the App Store any other way than this link, and in addition to the message above re the "features not available," there is no download button. Only a share button at the top right, which offers ways to share the link. No way to download it. Anyone???

That is incorrect.

The sentence I highlighted was stated as a requirement. The sentence below it regarding installing the app from the App Store is the first of seven steps to perform assuming you meet all the requirements.
