So, Inform Apple of This:

Do your Part. Give Apple feedback on this. Apple won't get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what issues are occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come.

How to Give Feedback:

1. Go Here: Feedback - Apple Music - Apple
2. Select: "Bug Report" for "Feedback Type"
3. Select: "Browse" for "What Apple Music feature is your feedback about?"
4. Comment: one when you came across this issues, wand how you have troubleshoot it this far
5. Proceed from there as necessary

IT IS VERY SIMPLE TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE.

Please follow the below guideline:

1).First remove your SD card.

2).Please open the "System Settings"

3).Go to "Privacy&Security" and select Set "Allow Accessories to connect" settings to "Always"

4).Then connect your SD card.

5).Done!!!

Reinstall the macOS:

Nothing would be deleted. It's just that items that have become corrupted or deleted, would be replaced or reinstalled back to where they should be. Go Here: How to reinstall macOS from macOS Recovery - Apple Support

Important: Be certain to create a backup of your Mac prior to all of this. That way, you can have something to restore from the Mac from, should anything go wrong with the reinstall. Once reinstalled, try this once more.

I have a same problem. My constantly connected sd card stoped reading after restart. I have to unplug and plug it back again. Is there any solution to tweak this in Mac OS X to keep it working after restart?

Weird. I'm still having the same issues. Well to be honest I don't know if this is due to the new updates since I never used SD card reader before, but at the moment my Macbook PRO 2021 M1 can't recognise any cards. Tried to solution with setting to 'always' but still no sign of recognition.

Have latest 13.4.1 (22F82).

Note: There is another macbook pro 2021 m1 in the house with older versions and all the cards works perfectly. I hope this is due to the software...

Any news on this topic ? I still have this problem (my privacy settings are set to "Always") and since yesterday when I installed Ventura 13.5, my external HDD (Western Digital) no longer mounts in the Finder.

Why my macbook "Allow Accessories to connect" diable

The same problem after installing Ventura 13.4, it helps me to get and insert the card into the card reader.

Reinstalling will not help, this is most likely a software error in the update itself. To make the card work, take it out of the card reader and put it back in.

I had the same issue.. and I solved just allowing this.

Changing "Allow accessories to connect" to always..

And done!
