Magic KB with Touch ID MK239LL/A not waking up Mac Mini

I recently acquired a Mac Mini M2, 16G, 512G, 2023. I purchased a wireless Magic Keyboard, and set up the Touch ID. Worked fine yesterday, but this morning I cannot get the TouchID to "wake up" my machine. I'm sure I have a setting wrong somewhere. Love to hear your thoughts. TIA.

Meanwhile, plug the keyboard into the Mac with the Lightning cable that came with it. The Mac will now see it as a USB keyboard. The keyboard will recharge and the Touch ID may work as it should. Leave the keyboard connected for several hours - with the Mac powered on - to allow the battery to fully recharge before you disconnect and go wireless again.
