Multi-output instruments in Logic Pro for iPad

Is routing the outputs of multi-output instruments to separate aux channels supported in Logic Pro for iPad? I am able to add a multi-output AUv3 plugin to my project, and the plugin chooser menu correctly reports that the plugin has 8 outputs. But then it seems that all the outputs are getting summed to the channel's stereo output. I don't see a plus button in the channel strip to add additional aux channels for the other outputs, as the documentation indicates. Is routing the outputs of multi-output instruments to separate channels only supported on Mac?

I figured it out! You have to manually create aux channels (by adding sends to an existing channel). Then in the mix view, you can select the input for the aux channel as one of the outputs of the multi-output instrument. Repeat for each output you want to track separately. Kind of tedious but you can group all the channels into a summing stack then save it as a patch, so you only need to set it all up once.

It worked fine with 4Pockets DigitStix2.

The steps:

  1. Created a MIDI track with DigiStix2 as the instrument
  2. In DigiStix2, assigned 4 of the channels to Output Bus 1-4
  3. In Logic Pro’s mixer, created 4 Aux Sends
  4. In Logic Pro’s mixer, deleted the Stereo Out
  5. Opened the mixer and drum playing surface
  6. Played each of the 4 referenced drum pads, adjusting the volume of the sends

I only heard the given channel when the send was “up.”
