I get the error 'Non-core version of Windows that cannot be activated' when I try to activate Windows on my Mac

I installed Windows 10 on my 2014 MacBook Pro 13 inch using Bootcamp. When I enter the serial key to activate Windows, I get an error message saying that I am running a Non-core version of Windows that cannot be activated. I used the ISO file directly from the Microsoft site, and Microsoft help tells me that my serial number to activate is a good one. They tried but cannot help me past this roadblock to activate and said I needed to call Apple support. Anyone have a solution?

I would delete the installer if it fails and download a version that works...
