iPad Pro (12.9-inch) (4th generation)

Contributors here are all end-users, just like you. Other than information publicly released by Apple, we have absolutely no insight into Apple’s future product development roadmap. The terms of use that govern participation within the Apple Support Community disallows any speculation as to future products.

Final Cut Pro for iPad, as just released, is only available for iPad Pro devices that have either an Apple M1 or M2 CPU/SoC:

• iPad Pro 11” third generation (M1) or fourth generation (M2)
• iPad Pro 12.9” fifth generation (M1) or sixth generation (M2)

Feature availability is usually limited by system hardware - CPU and available RAM being critical for many Apps, such as video editing.

Whether or not Apple will ever release another version of FCP for iPad, compatible with other models of iPad that do not meet the current hardware requirements, is known only within Apple.
