Updated iPad Pro (10.5”) to iOS 16.5 and my new Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter stopped working. Also updated my iPhone 12 mini to iOS 16.5 which also stopped the adapter from working. Adapter working fine with both devices prior to update. How can I fix?

Was this an official Apple branded adapter or was this a third-party adapter?
If this was a third-party adapter, you'll want to reach out to the manufacturer directly to see if this may be a known issue.

It is NOT working. ( powering remote USB equipment) Try google it. Its the upgrade to 16.5 and you cannot downgrade to 16.4x anymore. Its all over the internet. WAKE UP APPLE, you are stepping on all your customers depending on this for all sorts of addon equipments to ipads with lightning connector, which is still available!. We were on the verge of upgrading our equipment to new. We are angry and Windows is indeed cheaper. We already use apps only designed for windows. We just wanted to get a couple of new ipads as travel partners for audio sketching of musical ideas. We do have lightning to USB3 connectors. We dont need the expensive USB C models. Now we are not so sure about that. This is not the first time. At least post some official response.
it is a problem with 16.5. I have two ipads. one already was running on 16.5 and it simply would not use the adapter. Another ipad was still on 16.4.1 and it used the camera adapter just fine until it too was updated to ipados 16.5, at which time it began having the same problems as the first ipad.
This is not a third party product I'm talking about. This is the one officially apple branded.
I also have the same problem, it doesn't work after 16.5 update.
To do a test I bought an alternative cheap adapter that is identical and... surprise it works!!
I don't understand. How is it possible that a non-apple adapter works and
the original apple doesn't?

I think it’s due to iOS 16.5, ‘cause the problem persists with a new Apple adapter too.
They fixed it !
ios and ipados 16.5.1 fixes the issue. the key feature of the update is the fix for this issue.
i have installed the update on my ipad and verified that it's working now.
