On iOS 16.5 update does the Lightning to USB 3 adapter stop working in iPhone 13Pro ?!

Thank you for answering, lucky not updating so waiting for that iOS 16.6 update & hope it's all fixed by then! I use this USB 3 camera adapter to transfer Raw files from iPhone to seperate hard drive!

Yes that is what I was reading before, some have no problems with Lightning to USB 3 camera adapter! It seems that if iPhone or iPad is to rely drawing power of this USB 3 adapter then its not working! If say like external HDD have power then its working & no need to transfer power to iPhone then perhaps it works! Sorry not that great on tech words!!Well, waiting for next update to be sure so not risking it now!!

I'm going through the same issue right now. Have an iPhone 12 pro Max and a iPhone 12. have used the lightning to USB3 camera adaptor since last July with no issues. 4 days ago had to use again to transfer large files and all of a sudden no power is being transferred through the adaptor to power my phone or thumb drives. Contacted apple support and since less than a year old had them replace it under warranty however I just plugged the new one in and still not showing power being transferred. Both phones have been updated to IOS 16.5 I tried to use the device on my iPad that hasn't been updated yet and a family members phone that I had not updated and the adaptor is still working and those devices recognize when power is plugged in. I think this is 100% ios 16.5 software issue but if apple isn't recognizing it as a software issue maybe I'll just keep replacing them under warranty until i get one that works ;^)

Yes big companies don't care so much of the little people! They always find strange ways to solve problems!! I am waiting for that iOS 16.6 update, supposedly fixed on that update! I think quite many people use this USB 3 camera updater. I use it to transfer big AppleProRaw files & Raw files to external HDD straight from the iPhone. I find this is easier& simple way than putting files to Photo library & then transferring them to HDD! One less step & more simple, sometimes having almost 1000 Raw files!! I was in over seas travel during this 16.5 update & lucky reading about this problem when coming back before updating! It seems that some people don't have this problem so I think if there is power to be transferred to iPhone then this adapter is not working! Perhaps when transferring files to external HDD which has its own power then not having this type of problem. I wait for that 16.6 update& not taking the risk!!Sorry my tech words perhaps not correct, just an old fella!

Hetzelfde probleem. Na de update 16.5 op Ipad laadt die niet meer op via de camera connexion kit. Gevolg is dat ik mijn midi keyboards en midi pedaal niet meer kan gebruiken. Hopelijk wordt dat probleem bij een volgende update opgelost!

Yes it seems like this Lightning to USB 3 camera adapter is commonly used & Apple perhaps misjudged importance of this small item! I just wonder how difficult things will go when lightning ports comes absolute in iPhone 15 & replacements have to come with USB C ports! Well I hope that Apple have something planned for the future!?

I have an iPhone 14plus and CAN confirm that the Lightning Adapter has been rendered USELESS with the onset of the new iOS 16.5 update.

Initially thought it was my Adapter;

Even went to the Apple Store to explain my issues.

Considering this is a known issue, I am surprised the Apple employees did not advise me prior to purchasing another adapter only to come home and find out the brand new one didn’t work either.

Tried other iPhones which haven’t been updated yet in my house and the adapter works fine.

would have preferred Apple employees state this before I spent time I will never get back along with money spent (even though I will be returning the adapter tommorow)

this needs to be patches

Ask for new iPhone 14, it's phones fault! Adapter it's only adapter, you connect it to phone!!?? Only kidding, Apple should've know about this problem by now & not not to give a runaround for loyal iPhone users! I am an old fella & not a tech specialist & realised that this problem has to do with that iOS 16.5 update! Just lucky being overseas & didn't update the software then! New iOS 16.6 is perhaps coming sometimes in June so hopefully by that update this problem is fixed!! Apple should wake up & inform people & just to admit that mistake was done & telling people that issue will be fixed soon so loyal users for Apple products can relax & have a trust that Apple is looking after them!!!
