Apparently ever since a recent update, photos are being sent in the HEIC format. Totally useless. Most people can’t open this. How do I stop my phone from doing this and be able to send it in JPEG again? I googled it and it tells me to reset my phone which I’m not going to do. It also tells me to check my camera settings and it should be on compatibility which it is. Any other thoughts?

I'm not getting this issue. Seems to be a bug in the install...
Report this to Apple:
Do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about this issue. Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come.
HEIC photos are totally worthless. They can not be documented like JPEGs. It's like going back to when we pulled a box of photos out of the closet after Grandma passed away and there was nothing written on them to know who was in the picture. They may be more efficient, but what good are they???
