Lost iPhone might not be listed on the devices associated with your iCloud account
I recently lost an iPhone 13 Pro Max; a local insurance company in Kenya insured the phone. The insurer said they need a screenshot of iCloud displaying the serial number.
From my research, the following are reasons why a lost iPhone might not be listed on the devices associated with your iCloud account:
- Find My iPhone was not turned on. If Find My iPhone was not turned on before your iPhone was lost or stolen, it will not show up in the Find My iPhone app or on iCloud.com.
- Your iPhone is offline. If your iPhone is turned off or does not have an internet connection, it will not show up in Find My iPhone.
- Your iPhone has been wiped. If someone wipes your iPhone, it will no longer be associated with your iCloud account and will not show up in Find My iPhone.
Please share if there is a way to return the stolen device to appear on my devices for me to retrieve the serial number.
