No suspicions, just uncertainty from all the static that I heard and read…someone told me not too long ago that some hackers can get through on practically any device, utilizing malware and Trojans without anyone knowing. Even still, I have read that Apple devices were practically immune and yet when I looked it up on the internet, there were statements made that it was only a myth. All this left me confused so I thought I’d directly ask Apple Support. My iPad is not jailbroken…

The myths are a myth. It’s not that in theory iPads can’t be hacked; they can, but not if you keep it updated; security is an arms race, not a wall that you build once that keeps everyone out. Apple does a very good job winning the arms race if you install updates when they become available. And in general hacking an iPad or iPhone requires physical possession of the device by the hacker.

Well that depends I mean the duck duck go browser is meant to be safe and technically your iPad can be hacked no matter what browser you use because your iPad cannot really protect you from malicious websites. Using google can get you hacked same with Bing and other browsers. You shouldn’t have to worry about being hacked as long as you steer clear of shady websites.

An iPad or iPhone cannot be hacked by visiting ANY website with any browser, so lay off the scare tactics. The worst that a malicious website can do is do is display something you don’t want to see, or try to convince you to enter PII (Personally Identifiable Information). But I’m sure everyone knows not to fall for phishing scams, or fake virus warnings.
