Charging an iPad 2022 with ligthning to usb-c adapter

My question

I have an iPad 2017 and several original Apple usb-a charger and Apple cable usb-a to lighting.

New I have an iPad 2022 (10th gen) with original Apple USB-C charger and Apple USB-C to USB-C cable.

I want to be able to use the chargers for both iPads. For that I need the following cables:

1 A USB-C to lightning cable so you can use the USB-C charger with the iPad 2017.

2 A USB-A to USB-C cable so you can use the USB-A charger with the iPad 2022.

Unfortunately I can't find those cables at the webshops.

What I did buy is an adapter (plug) lighting female to USB-c male.

With this I can also charge the iPad 2022 (USB-C) with the old iPad 2017 lighting charger.

This should work according to the store. Unfortunately, the green charging indicator on the iPad 2022 turns on briefly and then quickly goes out again.

What's going wrong?

iPad, iPadOS 16
