Photos App taking 40g of space even after deleting files
I have a problem that’s been ongoing for years.
My Photos, sometimes Other/System Data, takes up insane amounts of my storage on my phone.
currently 44g of my 65g space.
I’ve deleted all my photos and videos on many occasions and still have the same problem.
I’ve been told:
- It’s a cache problem.
- Theres a bug / defect.
- It’s a corrupted data problem.
(All of which Apple is aware of and is “fixing”. Which I’ve been told for years)
and that the only way I can fix it is:
- Sync my phone using a computer with iTunes. (I don’t have one)
- Go to an apple/repair store and sync the device there (at my own cost).
- Factory reset my phone (this is a monthly task at a minimum)
I see this sort of issue all over the place, how is it that there are as many reports of this problem as there are an Apple isn’t seeming to want to fix it? It can’t be to get me to buy more iCloud storage. That doesn’t fix the issue either.
