1000 photos taking up 60GB?

Hello,

I am trying to free up storage on my phone, and I think I successfully did so by turning off iCloud Photos sync, which removed 90% of my 30k photos/videos on my gallery.

Right now, I can see that there are only 1700 photos, which I assume are the ones that had low resolution copies on my phone before turning off the iCloud Photos sync.

Those 1,700 photos/videos load immediately, so I am sure they are infact on my iPhone.

However, it seems that the remaining 28k photos and videos are still taking up space, be it low resolution or high. I am unsure what to do and i am completely blocked from using my phone or taking an photos, or downloading any apps.

Much help is needed :(

I have no idea what is going on and nothing is clear, thanks!!

No, there are no other albums, and the numbers of my albums, videos, photos and gallery in total are very low.

When you delete photos, they don't actually delete unless you open the Recently Deleted folder and delete them there. They hang out in that folder for 30 days, to give you the chance to restore a photo if you didn't mean to delete one or more. Did you go to Recently Deleted folder and delete them there?
